This year the SFFF is focusing on films with 15 features
and 20 shorts. Most of the premieres we are showing have come directly from France and truly represent the best and latest
that French cinema has to offer!
Because times are difficult for everyone we are particularly excited that our film
line-up counts no less than 6 comedies (including the 1936 classic The Story of a Cheat by Sacha Guitry)! Each of them presents a unique facet of French (and
Belgian) humor. We want to make you laugh and leave you happy (the Festival will close with the hilarious spy-spoof OSS 117, Lost in Rio)! Of course the other thought- provoking films in our selection, thrillers,
historical and social dramas, are not to be missed either! And our Midnight Films will make you discover two classics of the

The Story Beyond The Still Contest - LA, Sacramento
It's the first ever user-generated HD Video Contest where photographers become filmmakers, and we all see
beyond the still. Last month M. Keegan Uhl was chosen as the winner of Chapter 3 for his film "The Beach," based on his interpretation
of a still photograph left at the end of the previous winning chapter. M Keegan's film was the third chapter of seven, ending
with a still photograph of its own for the Vimeo community to once again interpret. After a wave of entries, Jeff Turick's
"Allison" was chosen as the winner for Chapter 4, and now, once again the question is posed to you, what do you see beyond
this still?
I'm working on an entry to the Beyond the Still contest (see http://vimeo.com/groups/beyondthestill) and need a warehouse to shoot in, like the one in Chapter 1 on this website. Do you know of any buildings in Sacramento
that match the look (wooden, industrial, French windows, etc.) that we could do a one-day shoot in? We'd appreciate any
help we can get. The deadline for the contest is June 10th and we haven't even held auditions yet. Yikes!

Before 12 is gearing up to be shot soon and we are looking for all the
pieces we still need. We are shooting a trailer for the film and already have a camera for that, but we are still looking
for the actual camera package we will use for the film. It will need to be HD, and we'd like to create a 1080P image at 24p
if we can.
Currently we have Mark Herzig as the DP, and an EX-1 camera to shoot the trailer with. It would be great
to have the same kind of camera for the film as we use on the trailer.
But please let us know, whatever you have...
This
is not a paid gig unless we can get a budget, but we will definitely feed you well and give you credit, and it will be great

FADEIN was established to help talented emerging

The Grand Prize Winner receives a brand

while category winners take home cash prizes and script analysis by WGA writers. What's more, FADEIN offers its winners an
unprecedented support network, working with its writers over the course of a year to bring their scripts up to professional

Hi! I'm looking for an experienced Camera Operator/ DP with their own camera and actors to help with my short film. The
film is about a young Native boy who struggles to complete a homework assignment despite all the distractions, and disruptions
of reservation life.
Film will be shot mostly on location at the Hung A Leti reservation near South Lake Tahoe. The
community is very supportive of the project and we will be using primarily Native cast and crew.
I am a filmmaker who
grew up in the area, but now lives in LA and works in the film industry in various capacities. I am hoping to use this short
film to add to my reel to apply for NYU's grad film program. It's not my first time around the block, so if you're looking
to learn something from eachother working in a collaborative partnership, this would be a good fit. I'm a highly visual director
and would like to plan the shots ahead of time in storyboard form with my DP. I've already begun this process, but the type
of camera dictates what we can do. blooming.ruby@yahoo.com
From "The Schempire", the team that brought the comedy “Pimp My Rascal” to the 2009 “Los Angeles Comedy
Shorts Festival” is looking for crew for their follow-up short, “Abs Like Jesus.”
This is a very
last minute, though fairly organized shoot in an effort to meet the deadline for this great festival. We'll be shooting in
Fairfield, CA on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday NOVEMBER 22nd, 23rd and 24th (next week.) The scenes are very short, but the locations
are numerous. We're looking for someone to operate a Panasonic 24p camera, as well as someone will a lav mic or two, or maybe
just a boom and/or handheld mic, and someone with a very basic set of lights. Since this is an infomercial parody, the lighting
can look appropriately cheesy to match...
Please email donovanschemke@hotmail.com or call 707-803-0308 with your experience
and questions. We would like to work with fun people who love making films. We wish we could pay you, but we will feed you,
and we will take this film to as much public notoriety as possible. It's a great opportunity for people looking to get experience/build
their resume.
This is an infomercial parody of a work-out program called “Abs Like Jesus.” We consider
ourselves to be respectful of religion, and Jesus. But this probably tests the boundaries a little bit. There is nothing gruesome
or tasteless in it, it sends up infomercials mostly, but a sense of humor is required for involvement in this project.
Thank
you for your interest!! See our 1st film, "Pimp My Rascal", an official selection at the 2009 L.A. Comedy Shorts Festival
at www.jenniferschemke.com THANKS AGAIN!!

and this Sunday (8/10) and need a space about the size of a large living room. Ideally, it would have hard-surface floors,
