In 1995 the Festival of Cinema (FOC) began as the brain child of Ken Knoll. Mr. Knoll had the vison to bring a first
class cinematic event to Sacramento in support of the local arts, the local filmmaking community and international filmmaking
from around the world.
In 1999 Mr Knoll bequethed the event to Access Sacramento, with whom the FOC had already partnered. Already our area's
Community Media Center, bringing media access to the masses through education resource and a TV forum, Access Sacramento managed
the event from 2000 to 2004 under Executive Director Ron Cooper and Managing Festival Director Martin Anaya.
In 2005 Martin Anaya began the Sacramento Film Festival with the support and blessing of Access Sacramento. This new
expanded event still benefits from the amazing spirit that was FOC. Here is a look back at the Sacramento Festival of
Cinema.
